Lucerne Elementary Secondary School – New Denver, BC
Lucerne Elementary Secondary School has Preschool to Grade 12 with approximately 100 students, with an emphasis on environmental education. Located in the beautiful lakeside village of New Denver in the Kootenay Rocky Mountains near Valhalla Provincial Park, the school has won numerous awards and recognition for innovation in its educational approach. “Immersion Week” is particularly engaging. Lucerne students benefit from the many advantages of a small and creative school in a wilderness setting – small classes, individual attention, a family atmosphere, and unique educational experiences.
Nakusp Secondary School – Nakusp, BC
Nakusp Secondary School is situated in the village of Nakusp overlooking the scenic Arrow Lakes and Saddle Mountain. With a student population of 160 from Grades 8 to 12, NSS is well-regarded for its strong sports program and the students at the school display a deeply embedded commitment to the community. The band program and the outdoor education programs are expanding and all students have access to a full range of academics and hands-on electives. Being a relatively small secondary school, we are able to focus on the needs of the individual student for academic and personal success.

Nakusp Elementary School – Nakusp, BC
Nakusp Elementary School is home to Kindergarten to Grade 7 across the street from NSS. Our motto is “at Nakusp Elementary, learning is in our nature”. With 200 students, NES maintains high academic standards, with our students performing among the best in the province. Staff at Nakusp Elementary organize a rich variety of learning experiences including cultural events, skiing lessons, artist residencies, outdoor recreation, environmental education and community service. A StrongStart Centre and Community Arts Centre are also part of the school.
